Our Concept
GasLINE GmbH & Co. KG was established in 1996 by 15 German gas transmission and regional distribution companies. It has a Germany-wide integrated fibre-optic cable network, offering dark fibre capacity to national and international telecommunication carriers.

The cables which, for safety reasons, are usually installed in the rights-of-way of gas pipelines connect the telecommunication hubs of all major cities. The GasLINE network presently comprises more than 9,500 km of fibre-optic cable. It is gradually extended in line with customer needs and specifications. In more than 100 cities, the GasLINE cable network connects to telehouses and so-called "Points of Presence" (POPs).

GasLINE focuses its know-how on the provision of dark fibre capacity, offering customers a 'turn-key' service.


Our Products
GasLINE can provide the full range of products for dark fibre infrastructure: from the individual fibre to entire fibre-optic cables and cable ducts into which carriers can install their own cables. Along the GasLINE network there are system equipment sites (repeater stations) at distances of some 80 km with rooms/rack space for customers to lease for their transmission equipment.

  • Lease of dark fibre capacity
    GasLINE offers two fibre types:
    G 652 and G 655 in accordance with the "International Telecommunication Union" (ITU) standardisation body

  • Lease of cable ducts for customers to install their own fibre-optic cables

  • Lease of cable rooms or rack space at system equipment sites
